How snacks differ from balls
A ball is a body on the table that you have to actually pocket; a snack is a standing rule. That makes snacks far more predictable — a snack that says "round start: give your balls +1" does it every round with no aiming involved — but it also means they cannot be upgraded or fused. Snacks can be sold, and several of them (Vitamins, Love Cake, Halo-Halo, Piggybank's ball equivalent) are worth more sold than kept.
Snacks that buff your balls matter more than their numbers suggest, because several balls read buffs as triggers: Sand scores whenever it receives one, Bush and Gaia enlarge them, and Moss passes them on. See the build guide for the pairings that make this loop.
